Nestled in the charming village of Fochabers, the Gordon Arms Hotel served as the perfect cozy retreat for our recent New Year getaway. The warm, friendly atmosphere enveloped us as we settled into our comfortable, en-suite room, which offered just the right blend of quaint character and modern amenities-a true delight for someone who appreciates the nuances of a building with history. Each morning was greeted with a breakfast that felt like a comforting hug; the homemade porridge was an absolute favorite, perfectly fueling us for our cycling adventures along the scenic River Spey. After our bike rides through the quaint village, cleaning up was a breeze thanks to the generous staff who offered us the use of their outdoor hose, making it easy to freshen up our bikes before heading back in for our next meal in the Ghillies Bar. Their homemade Cullen Skink and the famous Steak and Ale Pie truly reflect Scotland's culinary charm, and paired wonderfully with a fine malt from the extensive selection they pride themselves on. Whether you're a cyclist, tourist, or simply someone seeking a serene escape, the Gordon Arms Hotel strikes a perfect balance of comfort and adventure that I wholeheartedly recommend to fellow nature enthusiasts and food lovers alike!
